A while back I posted about Northeast credit & collections and how I was treated when they called.

In September one rep left a message to call immediately, an hour later I got home and answered the phone and talked to a different rep. He didn't understand what I meant when I said I was sending a validation request and would make arrangements for payment if teh accoutn was indeed mine, he said he'd send it. Hung up from that person walked into next room and phone rang AGAIN and it was the person who had left teh message earlier. She was horribly rude when I kept repeating I just talked to someone and I will not discuss it again. She asked the name of the person I talked to, ranting that there were no notes on my account, I tried to explain I had only JUST got off the phone and he probably hadn't had TIME to enter the conversation yet. She got even madder and ignored me sayign "what's his name I'm goign to find this guy. (I think she thought I was lying and just didn't want to talk to her) Told her the guys name and she (while still on the phone with me and I could hear everything) yelled out his name three times. When he responded she yelled at him to "come here" and yelled at him for talkign to me and not putting notes in the computer. He of course mumbled somethign about goign by what the dialer gives him and he was TRYING to put in what was said when she called him over. She yeleld somethign else that I couldn't quite hear and then started in on me sayign I had no right to request validation "whatever that is" and that they now had the accoutn and I had to pay "that's how it works. now when will you be paying?" Tried to force me into payign and I said not right now I will see what I can do and hung up.

I called the OC and got them to agree to take the payments from me and filed a formal complaint with them about the CA's behavior and mentioning the fact that the CA is NOT licensed in my state and is required to be by law. I then wrote a letter stating the events of the phonecalls, the fact that I knew they were unlicensed and as such I could not send them payments. I did say if they could provide full validation I would make payments to them, but until that happened I would deal with OC only.

I then disputed the CA's TL on all three credit reports.

A month and a half later the CA has not called or written, and they are now gone from my reports. I am making payments to the OC as agreed and teh OC knows if the CA tries anything on me again I will rpeort the CA for being unlicensed (at the very LEAST, will probably file complaints for FDCPA violations too) and will file BBB and FTC complaints against the OC for using an unlicensed CA with abusive business practices now that I have in writing they KNOW what the CA was doing..... :)

NCC gone from my life. Because I stood up for myself. Thanks to those here who told me to not sit back and take it!!!
