We have several lawyers who post on this forum. Most of them have their names and contact information listed on the State page on my website that they are licensed in.

NONE of them would dream of offering legal advice to someone on this forum.

"CAK" may well have a valid point in using a claim of clerical error to invaldate a judgment in his/her State of Mo, (although I do not see how possibly improper service could be construed as a clerical error), but since I do not know the State where you were sued, or if indeed you are still in the same State, all I will offer is some general advice.

If the debt was within SOL when you were sued, and if it was a legitimate debt, there is nothing to be gained by trying to nullify it by claiming clerical error, nor even trying to get it vacated,(assuming your State's rules of service WERE violated).

If you need to get it off your reports, and have the $$ to pay it, I suggest you get a lawyer to help you negotiate a settlement.

If you try to do it yourself it will just show as a "paid" judgment. A lawyer can negotiate a settlement in exchange for W & A not contesting a motion to vacate.
