Call the bank and ask for a review of this transaction under Federal Regulation E. Their first response may be, Huh, or never heard of it. If you give the bank oral notice, they may require you to follow up with written notice within 10 days, but this should get it started. The bank should then credit your account in the disputed amount. Then dispute in writing with the bank what you believe to be the problem, i.e., no agreement between the institution and yourself etc... The financial institution that withdrew funds from your account should have initially sent you a full disclosure before any debit was made to your account. If they didn't then, use this as part of the dispute. This should get the amount credited back to your account, but in order to keep it there, you will have to initiate the dispute with your bank.
