Judgements Against me please Help

Hello.. I just found out that Providian through Platinum Financial Services entered a judgement against me in the amount of 2300..I wasnt aware of this until now.. upon calling the companies involved i discovered that the account was now with some law firm in NY.. The judgement happened in 03/03.. I am trying to get a home.. Could someone help me please to figure the best way to go about this
