Last Activity or Closing Date?

I have been trying to rebuild my credit and get things cleaned up from when I had my own business in 1997. I have a couple of questions:
-How long will it take to remove these things?
-Do I go by the last activity date or account closing?
I have disputed items that are almost 7 years of last activity date. These items were paid. Can I redispute them as obsolete?
-I have a collection on my report from a pager company. I called in canceled my service, but had no proof. Paid in full how can I get the CA (IC Systems) to let go of a 1998 debt?
-I also had a judgement against me which was promptly paid in full. Is there anyway to get this gone before the 7 year date? Thanks
