There is a statute of limitations for collecting on any debt. Beyond that LEGAL period of time there is NO obligation to pay a ¢. In the case of a repo-- IF everything had been done LEGALLY, which I doubt, and IF you had received notice of all your rights to KEEP the car with "catch up" payments, which you did not, and IF it had been sold in a commercially reasonable manner, with full ntice and accounting to you, which it wasn't. THEN the creditor would have had 4 years legally to collect a deficiency from you.

What you have NOW is a scum scam garbage bottom feeder collection agency trying to STEAL $$ from you they do not have ANY RIGHT to collect on, and who obtained your data from your credit reports when you applied for credit by BUYING yor name from the CRA and matching it up with OLD STALE UNCOLLECTIBLE accounts that THEY HAVE no OWNERSHIP OF or authority to collect on.

Once they receive written notice they will not bother you any more. They only pick on helpless victims who do not know their rights.
