Speaking from experince with this EXACT situation, different CA.....

I demanded validation from the attorney. Got nada. Sent a second demand. Again ZIPPO. The attorney is the only one I knew about, and they told me the were the lawyer for the OC, so I had no reason to believe there was another company out there. Then I joined Provacy Gaurd and found a listign for COllect America. Found out the lawyer is one of COllect Americas worst lawyer collectors. Sent Collect America the 3rd demand for validation and gave only 15 days (since I had already wasted two months with the lawyer.) Then I disputed the TL with the 2 CRA's it was on. NOW it is gone.

Don't go to the lawyer. They will have to send it on to the CA and there's no gaurantee they will. IF you send it straight to the horses mouth then you can prove they got it. IF it goes to the lawyer whos to say the CA will ever see it - and you wont be able to prove they did. Get a CMRRR signature from the CA's office and then you wont have to mess around with the whole "but they are your lawyer, I sent it to them, you should have got it from them" thing.
