Here is what I would do. Send a verification letter to the Original Creditor demanding proof of (1) the original application for credit (2) the copy of the actual contract and a complete itemization of how they arrived at the amount they say you owe on the alleged debt. Send it CMRRR. They should immediately notify the credit bureaus that the "item is disputed", which they probably will not do. Also they probably will not comply with your request for copies. Then send a copy of your letter to the Original Creditor to the CRA, stating how could they verify with you since they have not verified with me. This is a violation of the FCRA and not annotating the account in dispute is also a violation. So then the CRA should remove!

Someone correct me if i am wrong. only voluntering an opinion here.
