Yes, I believe you should wait for the collection letter violation, before you try to sue. If it gets passed on to another CA, You'll just have to start the process over again. However if the current CA violates and then sends it on to another CA, then you can still sue. It doesn't matter who has the account then. Each time the debt gets passed on to the next CA, it gets less and less likely that they will be able to get anything.
