First Select purchases accounts from many different credit card issuers, so the account they purchased does not have to be a Providian account. The First Select account is correlated with the account you don’t recognize with the same balance, not your Providian account. If you’re the same person posting above as Bensgirl with the roommate id theft problem, then proceed as suggested there.
