yes they can bug you, yes they can try & sue you, whether they collect is another story..
as for buying a house , I doubt anyone would loan you more money if you have chargeoffs, at least in my case, that has been the story, I have 70K in charged off debt....I will file ch 7..it takes 4-6 months & then you can start fresh, I know people who got credit cards 6 months after filing, I HOWEVER WILL NOT EVER AGAIN.. this has been too much stress.
