Hello,

I am new to this board and look forward to learning and contributing as much as I can.

(a) I used to reside in California when some of my cards got charged off. I now live in a new state, but haven't informed my creditors of my new address. I still get mail at my California PO Box and my girlfriend forwards them to me. In case there is a lawsuit filed against me, can I have it 'cancelled' (?) on the grounds that I no longer reside in that state, and they have to file in the state of current residence? Should I go ahead and inform my creditors of my new PO Box? If so, just the Original Creditors, or the collection people too?

(b) I have had an interesting experience with Capital One. As my credit profile went down, my other cards got wise, and started sending me mails changing my APR etc, in response to which I pronptly closed those accounts. Capital One is the only one that hasn't done so!! I remember reading a few years ago, that of all the credit card companies, Cap One is the most "data driven". They do a lot of data mining and analysis to determine the exact behavior and profile of cardholders. I am wondering if the software recognizes that I will promptly shut down the card, if try to make any changes, and so they would rather have me keep making my minimum payments?

(c) Should a bankruptcy be filed before you get to a point wher you have a judgement against you, or can BK filings include judgements too?

Any responses to (a) and (c) would be much appreciated.
