Unless that detective is accompanied by a court order signed by a judge, the answer is nothing. PIs operate on their own, and some of them are not above walking on the wrong side of that straight line. If anyone requests information from you, tell them to send you a written request with an sase enclosed. That way, you do not accidentally reveal information.
