Some people would prefer not to have an unpaid charge off from the original creditor on their credit report. For them, settlement is a reasonable option. There is no one-size-fits-all remedy for credit issues. There is bankruptcy, settlement, or fight them out in court to the bitter end decisions. Each person’s tolerance for the “fight” is different.
