Collection on Company CC - Interest?

A CA is collecting on behalf of an old employer for an outstanding balance on a Corporate Amex card. Balance was $3076, plus 12% interest as represented by the CA. We agreed on payment arrangements as of 8/02. In July of this year, I questioned whether I was obligated to pay interest since the employer had actually paid the balance. If the employer paid the balance and pursued me later, am I obligated to pay the CA interest?
