Two weeks ago, I got a message from the attorney's office of Hayt, Hayt, and Landau stating that they would be filing a lawsuit against me in our local county courthouse for an unpaid balance on an Orchard Bank credit card for $800. I have nothing to pay on this so I ignored the call and today I received another call stating that they had no other option but to file the paperwork on Friday, so I better call them ASAP concerning this pending lawsuit. In the first call I received they also stated that a lot of legal fees would be added on if it did go to court. Do you think that they are really going to sue for $800. Should I try to make some kind of arrangements or do I wait til I am served? We already have terrible credit due to a significant loss in income. We have nothing to pay them but I surely don't want our wages garnished. I need advice soon. Are they just threatening us or do you really think they are going to sue? And what happens if they do sue?
