Creditor?

Last pay date???

The WA SOL is 3 years. The SOL on the debt they claim is mine ended 2 months after they started to harrass me - sounds like yours might be close too!

First step: Request a validation. They will most likely send you a computer screen printout which will list the last pay date, and co date. But chances are the account number and creditor name will be wrong (last collection agency account number instead of original number and something like "Target" instead of "Mervyns") On it somewhere will be a "wait" date. This is the date they are goign to report it to your credit report (if they haven't already done so).

Send a second validation request, and wait. They will either send another failed attempt to validate or will continue collection activity and report to your credit report.

File a complaint with the Attorney General and the ACA right away if at anytime after your validation request they try to colelct from you. My calls have stopped and so will yours if you make sure your validation request includes a limited C&D. Trust me you want to let them send you as many things as it takes to hang themselves with.

I tried to file one with the BBB but they recommended I go straight to the Arizona Banking Department because the complaints I had against Asset were beyond their "purview" whatever THAT means....
