Nationwide Recovery sys- Please help

I had a contract with Worldcom wireless last year. When it was on 13 month of contract, I called an agent and asked if I can terminate. They said: Do not worried about contract, you can use and just pay monthly fee. After that, they sent me a letter stated that I must paid for termination fee, I called that number back and explained. That guy said he will clear for me.
Now, I am renting a apartment, and was denied. I checking my credit report and found out that Nationwide REcovery sys. had post a negative on my report. What should I do? Please help!
