Forgive me but why would you have to contact the IRS for a STATE tax lien ??? The IRS can't do anything on THEIR published docs!!!

Something that may help you - the Fed Bankruptcy Court is now requiring the filing of a new form with every bankrutpcy. This Form 21 (I believe that's the number) is specifically designed to make sure that you SSN is NOT revealed when the documents are posted for public access.. like Pacer. If the Fed BK court is going that far to protect your SSN agains ID theft, then some schmuck of a county attorney can get his butt in gear and do the same !

You also might try contacting the SSA and see what THEY have to say about it. With the new ID theft initiatives going on with the CRA's and the Feds, you should be able to get this rectified.
