Does the amount owed fall within the limits for Small Claims Court in your area? If it does, you don't have or need to file an Answer to a Lawsuit, and its much easier to just file a counter claim, which shouldn't cost you anything for the violations I described. You also stand a very good chance of winning a Money Judgment against them.
