If the state allows service by posting or publication or other means that doesn't require a signature and that's how she was served, then its possible. To make sure, call the court house in the county you were previously living in and ask.

To your other question, the answer is "yes" you need to be served at your current address or they may serve you at work, or some other place they know you'll be. The server's return will reflect where and how you were served.
