there is a lot of confusion on this, and some attorneys will tell 6 yrs and still others will try and tell you 15 yrs.
I think the FDIC REQUIRES CC companies to charge off accounts that are 180 days late.
In OH, the SOL starts running when you are first late on your payment and never get cought up.
So in a perfect world if a cc company must charge off an account after it is 180 days past due, then your SOL date would have start running 180 days prior to charge off. You need to pull your wife's credit reports to verify charge off dates.
