If you have your report, where it was reported, look and see if there is a case # or a book and page #.

If it is just a case # it means you were sued, but the default judgment was never actually entered and the case records were eventually removed from the "active" files.

If you have a book and page #, then you can either look it up on line, or go to the Courthouse and check the file.
