Your SOL starts the date you were first "late" PRIOR to chargeoff.

All of the hypothetical "late" dates you give in your example COULD have been the start of the SOL, IF the account had been charged off instead of being caught up and had the default negated.

So to answer your question, in the example you gave, the ONLY SOL date that MATTERS is the Dec. 1999 one, as the account was never brought back out of default after that.
