It is cheaper to get your updated reports as you have described above with one exception, and that would be Experian, they have only sent me the individual page as an update and not the whole report. TransUnion and Equifax and/or CSC Services update with complete reports. Also you could consider, skiping a month or two between your purchases. If you have applied for credit and were turned down within the last 60 days, you can get a free report from the corresponding CRA.

Don't expect the process of cleaning your CR to happen instantly. It can take up to a year or more and is very frustrating. Just when you think you have everything figured out, you find out you don't, or the CRA's change the rules in mid stream, such as, not using the Universal Data Form any longer, etc.
