Wow. A year to get it clean? Isn't that frustrating, since it only takes 30 days to totally "discredit" (pun) yourself? (Speaking for myself). This is embarrassing, but I only have one open CC in my name, which has been current for the last year. I use it to pay my bills, then turn right around and do an online payment, leaving a little balance that carries over each month, but each charge is paid within the 25-day grace period so I haven't paid interest on the card for an entire year. I have been very fortunate to be able to do that. I had several medical bills that went to collections over the past couple of years and am getting them all paid. I have a BK, FC, and Auto Repo all from my divorce 4 years ago (I know, I know) and I've been trying to rebuild my credit since then (except for these D@#^ medical bills). The most pathetic thing is, my average FICO is 590. Can you believe it? I'm basically debt free now and I have a score that low? WHO'D A THUNK IT?! This whole credit BS is difficult.
