If you requested the permanent opt-out, you should have received a release to sign in the mail within a week or two. If you did not receive the release, you may want to repeat the procedure for the opt-out. Credit card companies receive lists well before they use them for mailing, so it will probably take about 1-2 months for the letters to stop. To stop the calls, put your phone numbers on the National Do Not Call List. As mk_378 said, companies you have relationships with, even though you have a zero balance, are exempt from both the opt-out and Do Not Call List. Even though your balance is zero, the account is active and available for you to use.
