Usual and customary is 30 days, however there is nothing that says they have to respond in 30 days or in 6 months. However, it doesn't look good on them, if and when you take them to court for Sec. 809 (b). They also have the right to simply not do anything and forward your debt to another CA. The debt would not be invalid just because they didn't respond. If however, they don't respond, send in a copy of your letter and CRRR to the corresponding CRA for deletion of their account, as the account can't be validated.
