My take on this is simple: Do not pay for legal advice from non-lawyers. There is a lot of legal advice on the net. That which is free may have been a labor of love by misguided amateurs. That which is charged for may be the work of amateur money-grubbing shysters.

Not that lawyers aren't money-grubbing shysters too, but if they are caught selling bad legal advice, they get severely punished by the government and other lawyers.

And if there were any merit to the "illegal money" theory, real lawyers would have been all over it years ago. It would be being invoked every day in debt judgement proceedings.
