I received the same letter from RJM. It is a letter that is sent out to anyone that requests validation.

RJM is a debt buyer and also a CA. If they truly were not a CA, they would not attempt to validate, similar to an OC. However, I'm sure their Trade Line is on your CR as it was on mine. True exempt debt buyers don't get to put their Trade Line on your CR. They can however view your CR and it will be noted as a hard inquiry.

If you are considering BK 7, I would highly suggest that you speak with a BK attorney first.
Your BK attorney will want to structure all your debts in order of importance and will ask you what you want to keep, such as your vehicle, house, and will inform you of your exemptions, etc.

My wife filed BK 7 in 1994 and was able to wipe out her taxes and her CC debt, and she owed considerably more than you do. As she looks back, she is still convinced it was the right decision for her. All of the accounts are off her CR now and her Credit Score has climbed up over 700. One thing that is for sure, time will pass and things have a way of getting better.

BK is there for all of us, when we find out that were in over our heads and is a legal way of starting out fresh again. I know you understand that your credit will suck for a few years, but it may be a welcome trade off for you. Especially, if the stress of everything is starting to affect your marriage or your health.
Overwhelming debt of any kind is not worth sacrificing either of the above, in my opinion.

One last thing, don't put the decision off, because it is obvious one must be made.
