There’s a Massachusetts lawyer doing battle with the “Cadle Company” another purchaser of bad debts that claims it is not a “debt collector.” These purchasers evade licensing requirements by this claim. Contact that attorney and find out his tactics. He had a personal beef with Cadle and brought them to court as a class. Keep at it against Asset with your banking commission. They are using the same excuse that they are not a debt collector. http://www.truthaboutcadle.com/ Asset’s own web page describes them as ” To be one of the leading purchasers, managers and liquidators of DEFAULTED consumer receivables.”
http://www.assetacceptance.com/2.html Business fact sheets list them as DEFAULTED debt buyers. http://www.quadcmanagement.com/investments/asset_acceptance.asp http://www.hoovers.com/asset-acceptance/--ID__126154--/free-co-factsheet.xhtml http://www.ipohome.com/common/ipoprofile.asp?ticker=AACC They don’t purchase ‘good’ accounts.
