I filed a bankruptcy over 10 years ago and it has since been removed from my credit report. I am a subscriber to privacyguard. I got an e-mail from them indicating changes had been made to my credit report. I checked and one of the accounts included in my bankruptcy, a department store, had relisted the item on my credit report. I called them and they realized it was a mistake and said they would notify the credit bureaus and have it removed (30-60 days). Is this legal? Can I do anything beyond having them remove it? I mean if I was in the process of trying to buy a major item this would definitely impact me and my time. I am still waiting on all three separate credit reports from the bureaus so I can clear up some aged items. All comments are welcome. Thanks!
