If the charge off's are from 98 you are probably past the SOL.

Any lawsuit that is filed after the SOL has expired can be easily tossed.

In essence, you now have the power. Why don't you hang around and learn some credit repair tricks and go after them for money caused by their violations of the FDCPA and FCRA?
