Thanks guys for the quick responce, The main of the bills went CO back in 98 about(3)which totals about 6 thousand dollars. The rest are from things that went south when I was laid off. (im seeing I may actually be about 10 or 11k in debt) I'm hours green in this forum but have learned some interesting things already that makes me feel better. But I still have bad credit, so I am trying to go about finding the way to pay my debits but have it reported correctly so I can get back to having some type of credit. I'm about to order all three CR and will come back to comment about what marks I have and what are the best strategies to get them cleared. From what I understand at this point in time, once I have my CR inhand I should, verify that all of the entries are correct, make contact with the OC and ask to reopen the account so it can be settled and marked paid(in writing). Then Im just to wait for the marks to come off? If my memory serves me right,
First USA- 5k(98)
Sears- no more than 1,2k(98)
FCNB-1,1k Northland group states FCNB will settle for 4 hundered.(98) The rest, going oof of memory, are bills that were refered to CA well within the last few years. Im glad I stumbled aross this community as I was about to do the American thing and get screwed! As the bumper stickers say, " If you think education is expensive, try igornance!" Thanks for any comments
