I had an account that I paid off in Jan 03 that was originally Allied Interstate, then Sherman Acquisition got involved. With the help of a mortgage broker, we agreed on a settlement amount which I paid. Now I have received threatening phone calls and a letter from Capital Management, who purchased the account from Sherman Acquisition showing as an outstanding debt. My next step now is to contact the mortgage broker who assisted me, and contact an attorney to file a law suit against them for false reporting, not applying payments to accounts, and harassment.
