Hello all. I have read a great deal of posts, and there are many people out there who may be able to help, I could not find exactly what I was looking for. Here it is:
I am from Canada (things should work about the same)

I have an AMEX card I missed 2 months on, I got injured but they wanted money.

I just got an invoice they printed on the 7th of December that the card is in collections, "to avoid continued collection & further affecting your credit standing, please pay minimum due."

The due date is for the 28th, and I got this last Friday the 12th. The amount is the entire credit.

On Friday the CA came at me like a pack of wolves, calling my parents (I am a grown man with a house and kids!) for some reason. Calling me several times a day Friday, then on Saturday, then 8 yesterday, after of course I returned her calls in the morning.

They are threatening to take my house, since it is something they can take, if I cannot pay the full amount due now today, then they are proceeding against me. I did not believe them. Come on, I have until the 28th no? I called AMEX and they said it has been sent to an outside collection agency he could not help me.

I also got this other letter to call some guy at some number, I called no idea who that was, but I know for a fact this is the only thing I am in arrears with. Do they send more than one person after you? EVERYTHING is to date. They really do not care that you got hurt and are having troubles making ends meet where the interest piles up so fast, I just paid 1000+ 3 months later right back up there.

What I need to know is why is the CA after me when I was *just* informed it was sent there, and the 28th has not even passed yet?
