How can I change this score?

Currently I have a credit score of 624 (pulled today) but cant do anything to bring it up. I don't get approved for credit and have NO credit cards or loans or open accounts on my credit. Its not so simple as saying "pay everything on time for a while" i dont have anything open. What is killing me (i think) is a repossession on a car from 6 years ago, which was only 30 days behind (and noted as such on the credit report). Please tell me how to raise my score as I am interested in getting a new vehicle before May. Thanks
