Don’t worry about any of the threats. Two months late is very short. The creditors hit at people like a ton of bricks at the first sign of delinquency because it works. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. The creditors who slam hardest and quickest get their money ahead of any other creditors. They wouldn’t do it if it didn’t work. It does. People hit some financial pothole and don’t have any contingency plans in place. All of a sudden, they’re hit with a barrage of phone calls, and they pay the ones who call most with what little funds they have. Sort of like extortion, we’ll stop calling if you pay us. There’s really no reason to ever speak with collectors on the telephone. Prioritize your payments as to what is most important for you, not as to who is bleating the loudest at the end of the telephone line.
