Joint Accounts, question for WhyChat

WhyChat - you recently mentioned that money in a joint account is protected from BK and creditor's judgement. Why is that? I've seen in other places on the web that "joint accounts are subject to partition", i.e. creditors can claim half of the account (if they win a lawsuit, of course). Is this true?
