Check the texas bar association and find out if he is now or ever was a licensed attorney in your state.

Read the laws on debt collection here and at budhibbs.com. Any phone call must - by law- be followed by written statement of debt with the mini- miranda.

Chances are this a friend of the "private investigator" who was making collection calls.

You might want to visit radio shack and get a tape recorder that will record your phone calls. Next time the attorney calls - tape the call -

Not sure if Texas is a one or two party taping state, so check first. If it is one party, you don't even have to tell them you are taping.

To answer your question, unless you want to tape this "attorney" don't even talk to him. You will only aggravate yourself.
