The divorce took 27 months to get settled.
I've been out of work for 22 months.
Ex wife took half of the unemployment when I was getting it.
I was left with all the credit card debt, which for awhile I passed back and forth until even that couldn't keep them all current.

I explained the situation to the credit card companies as well as the collectors and they just wanted money and I don't have any.

I am now staying with family out of state because I can't even pay rent now.

Now, 2 of the 6 credit card companies filed a civil summons. They require an answer or they will get a summary judgment and they will leave me no choice but to file bankruptcy.

How do I file an acceptable answer?
What are the chances of delaying it long enough to receive the settlement from the marital assets without them or the bankruptcy court taking everything?

How do I do this from another state?

Which state has the more advantageous exclusions, Ohio, Illinois or Missouri?
