My experience is that they are good if you don't want to talk to your CC. They will do the talking for you. If you are willing to negotiate something with the CC for a one time payment at 50%-70% of the balance, you should do it yourself. Basically, these debt elimination companies just try to negotiate something for you for a fee but you can get similar deal on your own and save some money.
