So, what happens if I vanish and don't pay my credit cards?

I am a non US citizen here for study. I am finishing up in a few months and will leave the country, only to come back for visits. I have no intention to come live in the US again, not in the near future.

So, I have a $10000 credit card debt which I cannot possibly repay before I leave. I was thinking what happens if I just left? Would they chase me overseas? Would they even be able to find me? Would I be banned from entering the US ever again? Would I be instantly arrested at the airport if I tried? Or is it the simple matter of getting a bad credit report, and for how long?
How far would it go?

Email responses as well as posts will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ...
