Hi there,
I have a very good insurance plan (blue cross) through my employer. Couple of my bills totalling around $350 ended up as deliquent in my credit history (since september 2003). I accidentally discovered it today when I accessed my credit report.

There was no communication that I can recall from the hospital or the collection agency about this debt. Blue cross has no record of denying any claim from the hospital. I was unable to get hold of anybody in the hospital or the collection agency to discuss the issue. I figured that I will educate myself about the options that I have before I contact them on Monday morning.

Any suggestions as to how I could remove the negative information assuming that I get the insurance company to pay it off.

I gather from this forum that one of the ways to deal with it is work out a deal with the collection agency so that they don't confirm the debt when I dispute it. Is my understanding correct? Any other suggestions?

Please help.
Elan
