AMEX has offered me less than full amount settlement offers. Seems like the longer I wait, the better the offers get. As always, your mileage may vary. I think a lot depends based on how "collectible" you CR looks. If you have a good CR and/or own a house, I think they may be less likely to settle. Of all the creditors I've ever had the "pleasure" of dealing with, AMEX is the least predictable.
