I received an Airborne package frow Wolpoff & Abramson recently regarding an MBNA debt which was charged off 2 years ago. I have been unable to pay due to a delay in business (resulting from the 9/11 attacks) - however, I have every intention on paying MBNA off in full when I have the money early next year. Please keep in mind that I cannot afford an attorney at this time nor commit to any "repayment plan"

I NEED to know the following:

1. Do I respond to W & A? And if I am advised to respond to them, what do I say?

2. Can they actually sue me?

3. Can they file and "arbitration judgement" against me? If so, is this legal and what recourse would I have.

3. Should I send them a cease and desist letter?

4. Do I deal with the original creditor exclusively?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
