You did not understand what I posted. The LAW says he MUST give you a WRITTEN document on a REQUIRED form that states that you have been refused credit because of a report from ______,and that you can obtain a COPY of the report FREE from the credit reporting organization. In my opinion, this mortgage broker is scamming you, he is likely padding the potential closing with "pay offs" that are not actually going anywhere except into his pocket. This is a fairly new mortgage scam, and you should NOT take the word of the first FRAUD mortgage broker you see about something this serious. There is NO WAY, legally, for him to take whatever "report" he showed you into account on a mortgage application, if it is not any longer on your regular reports. DID you opt out? Have you checked your OWN reports to make sure the old accounts were removed when they should have been?
