Aspenanne, I agree wholeheartedly.

Too many lives are ruined due to irresponsible credit use. I really believe that the finance companies and credit card companies are partly to blame for the outrageous consumer debt we have and the outrageous number of bankruptcy we have.

I could not get my first credit card until I was 22 years old. No one would give a credit card to me until I had a job, and a means to pay them back. I think that they should return to the old system.

It appalls me to see young students who have no jobs out there with a wallet of credit cards and visiting the mall every weekend, wracking up bills.

Remember when you buy on credit, unless you can pay in full that month, you pay that creditor the cost of the jeans, plus interest.

Some department store credit cards such as Sears, J.C.Penny, Home Depot are the biggest ripoff of all. They lure you in with promises of discounts off your purchases when you use their credit cards, but what they fail to tell you is that to get their ten percent disount in the store using their credit card, they will charge you 29% for using their money in their store. Net result. They make 19% off of you using credit, their credit card.

You come out better using cash or a low interest rate credit card that charges you a rate of 7%.

Credit cards enslave people. A pair of jeans is not worth becoming enslaved over. I wish I could turn back the clock and erase some of my mistakes.
