You can't pay and your credit card bills will continue to grow even though you are not using them. They will continue to add interest and penalty charges. I could not pay after an accident, and the creditors were not sympathetic. Not at all. I ultimate strategy was to ignore them. I was sued by only one out of many credit cards and my answer was to file Chapter 7. I have absolutely no remorse about not paying my debts.(especially about half of what I eventally discharged in bankrupcy was interest and penalities) I think your chances of not being sued are very good. Discover card did not sue me.
