I agree totally with all the above comments.

However, no one will give you a credit card because you can not legally enter into a contract until you are 18. (The exception being an emancipated minor.)

So, legally, you could charge up $20,000 in debt and refuse to pay as you were a minor and lacking capacity and they could not do anything.

Credit card debt has sunk many people- its like quicksand- easy to get in and hard to get out.

Do yourself a favor and open a Roth IRA now, before you have major obligations. Then, when you are older, you will have plenty of money (The magic of compounding interest).
